Another bluffing poker style is called running. This is when you are holding a good hand and someone calls you bluffing, but then when you reveal your hand, they are no longer bluffing, but actually having the correct odds. You do this by throwing in some high pocket cards when you are calling, then betting out when you have your raise. Some players believe that if they do not hit a single card with their raise, then their opponent has no chance of hitting a hole card. They also use this tactic to get people to fold to them and to force the action.
You may be wondering why it is important to bluff your opponents when they are holding the same hand. Bluffing allows you to test the strength of your opponents. Many times, players will hold the same cards and do the same action, but the only difference is that they bluff their way to success. If you can figure out what these players are doing, then you can simply use this information to play against them.
There is one more type of bluffing that you should be aware of. This is known as the “flip”. When you are calling and your opponents are holding the same cards, such as Royal Flush, then you can bluff your way to a win by flushing them. All you need to do is either call with the flushes or a good straight draw, then you will have enough to raise and re-raise for your turn, and hopefully hit some cards.
Fold or Bluff
This is bluffing, but the best part about it is that it works against almost every single poker online player. If you are playing against a tight opponent who is afraid of having to deal with the nuts, then this is your opportunity to show them that they are wrong. You do not have to end up throwing the hand if they call. But be sure to have a good idea of how many cards they have. If you are bluffing with the flush, then you want to know how many you have so you can have enough to raise and re-raise to win.
